Accessibility Statement

1. Commitment

CSAI Days 2026 is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the international standard for web accessibility.

2. Conformance Status

This website aims for WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. As of the date of this statement, we believe the website meets most Level A and AA success criteria, with the known limitations noted below.

Conformance is assessed through a combination of automated testing (axe-core, Lighthouse), manual keyboard testing, screen reader testing (NVDA, VoiceOver), and visual inspection at multiple viewports.

3. Accessibility Features Implemented

• Semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, nav, main, section, footer, aside)
• Structured heading hierarchy (h1–h6) on every page
• Descriptive alternative text for all informative images; decorative images hidden from assistive technology
• Keyboard-accessible navigation, dropdowns, dialogs, and interactive components
• Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements (links, buttons, form controls)
• Sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for UI components)
• Responsive design supporting zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
• Reduced motion support via prefers-reduced-motion media query (animations disabled)
• Language declaration on html element and dynamic lang/dir updates on language switch
• ARIA labels, roles, and live regions for dynamic content (copy notifications, dialogs)
• Skip-to-main-content link (first focusable element)
• Form labels associated with inputs; error messages linked via aria-describedby

4. Known Limitations

We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:

• Third-party embeds (Google Maps iframe, Google Forms links, Microsoft CMT portal) are not under our control and may not meet WCAG 2.1 AA
• PDF sponsorship brochure (sponsorship_dossier_01CSAIDays_event.pdf) may not be fully tagged for accessibility
• Conference Word/LaTeX templates are provided as-is; accessibility of generated documents depends on author usage
• Particle animation (tsParticles) on home page may be distracting; reduced-motion preference disables it
• Lottie animations on home page lack pause/stop controls (reduced-motion disables them)
• Language switcher buttons use abbreviated labels (EN, FR, ES); full names available via aria-label

5. Testing Environment

Accessibility testing performed in:

• Browsers: Chrome 120+, Firefox 120+, Safari 17+, Edge 120+
• Screen readers: NVDA 2024 (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
• Viewports: 390px (mobile), 768px (tablet), 1440px (desktop)
• Zoom levels: 100%, 150%, 200%
• Reduced motion: enabled/disabled
• Languages: English, French, Spanish

We aim to respond within 5 business days and resolve critical barriers within 30 days.

7. Event Accessibility

For the in-person event at EST Tétouan:

• Venue has wheelchair-accessible entrances, elevators, and restrooms
• Reserved seating available in main conference rooms
• Sign language interpretation available upon request (contact us 30 days before event)
• Assistive listening devices available
• Quiet room available for sensory breaks

8. Assessment Methodology

This statement is based on self-assessment by the development team using WCAG 2.1 evaluation methodology (WCAG-EM). No third-party audit has been conducted yet.

• Accessible PDF version of sponsorship brochure
• Pause/stop controls for all animations
• High contrast mode toggle
• Text spacing customization
